In an American suburb wiped out by foreclosures, Crystal, a young Saturn saleswoman, struggles to sell one last car to Charlie, a slick motivational speaker; but the paranoid squatter she shares a house with has other plans. As her situation grows more and more desperate, she discovers how far she’ll have to go in order to survive.
Bethany has previously received a public reading in Reverie Productions’ WET INK Festival of New Work (March 2, 2010), and a private reading at Barrow Street Theatre (May 4, 2009). It was a finalist for Clubbed Thumb’s 2009-2010 Biennial Commission, and a semifinalist for the National Playwrights Conference.
This program is supported in part by the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and the Dramatist Guild Fund.
