For the 11th year in a row, we’re proud to offer Summer Stars, a FREE performance program for children between the ages of 8-13 who reside in Queens. No past performance experience required.Over the course of 2 weeks of daily rehearsals, the Stars will develop an original show with a professional director and musical director. At the end of the program, there will be two public performances on Saturday, August 24th.

AUDITION DATE: Saturday, August 3rd

10:00am-1:00pm Sign in. Children will be seen in the order that they arrive. They should come prepared to sing a song. They are welcome to bring sheet music, if they have it, but it isn’t necessary.

A NOTE ON AUDITIONING

Our cast size is 30 children, and if more than 30 audition (which is likely), then we will not be able to accept everyone. Auditioning itself can be a great experience for kids, regardless of the outcome, but we want to be clear that auditioning does not guarantee a spot in the program.

LOCATION: Good Shepherd United Methodist Church

30-44 Crescent Street at 30th Road in Astoria, Queens. Take the N/Q to 30th Avenue. Walk west on 30th Avenue. Turn left on Crescent Street (Mount Sinai is on the corner), then right on 30th Rd. Entrance is the second set of red doors on the left.

REHEARSAL & PERFORMANCE SCHEDULE

In the event that your child is selected to participate in Summer Stars, they would need to attend ALL rehearsals and the final performances as well. Rehearsals are from Aug. 12-23rd. Monday through Friday, 10:00am-3:00pm. On Performance Day (Saturday, August 24th), they will need to be available from 11:00am-7:30pm.
