Open Auditions for Astoria Senior Performance Program, 5/10
Open Audition for the SENIOR STARS Program:
Tuesday, May 10th from 10:00am - 12:00pm
Astoria’s beloved performance program for senior citizens is BACK for it’s SIXTH year!!!
All Queens residents - age 60 and older - are invited to audition for this unique performance program.
All acts are welcome
No past performance experience is required!
Seniors should come prepared only to show off their own talent:
- singing
- joke-telling
- tap dancing
- instrument-playing
- break dancing
…or whatever else they’d like to do!
With the support of sponsors, Senior Stars is FREE for participants.
Rehearse for public performances
Those cast as Senior Stars rehearse with professional artists, Director Christine O’Grady (APAC’s Children of Eden, The Human Comedy, Senior Stars 2010) and Musical Director Dan Feyer (APAC’s Ragtime, Senior Stars 2009 and 2010) to develop their talents and, ultimately, perform for the public!
6 Week rehearsal schedule
May 17th through June 16th, Tuesdays & Thursdays, during the day.
Public Performances
Saturday, June 18th - Senior Stars take the stage for two public performances of their original show.
Come to open auditions for Astoria’s Senior Stars
When: Tuesday, May 10th. 10:00am-12:00pm
Every person who auditions must sign in during those hours. We will see everyone who signs in during that time in the order that they signed in. NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY.
Where: Good Shepherd United Methodist Church
30-44 Crescent Street at 30th Rd., Astoria, NY 11102
Directions: Take the N/Q to 30th Avenue. Walk down 30th Ave toward the Trade Fair Supermarket, continue past Mt. Sinai Hospital of Queens. Turn left on Crescent Street, then right on 30th Rd. The entrance is the second set of red doors on your left.
