Story

In the far-off land of academia, Diane and Jesse arrive at a dessert party only to discover there are no hosts. The kitchen’s a mess, young children have been left to put beans up their nose, a cat-eating dog is on the loose and they’re the only ones there to greet the guests. Maya, a visiting African-American writer, and the party’s nominal honoree, brings a message for Diane about a job in New York. The party ends in disaster, hilarity, and burnt bridges and with Diane’s decision to stay or go.
